I'm a lady who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).

I'm a Stewardess who prefers quiet spaces and places, but I could talk all beauty all the time! Please enjoy your visit!

Skincare Routine III

Skincare Routine III

It's been well over a year since I've shared my current skincare routine. I'm still using some of the same products, but I do have quite a few new additions.

AM

  1. Cleanse with Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser. If my nose and chin are more oily (for instance if it's been more than 8 hours since I did my PM routine), then I'll precleanse just those areas with the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel or my DIY Cleansing Oil
  2. Apply the African Botanics Pure Marula Oil or the African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil - I tissue off the excess on my oily nose and chin. The Pure Marula Oil has been a favorite for a long time, and at this point I consider it a staple. The Neroli Infused Marula Oil I've been testing out over the past couple of weeks. So far I'm really enjoying it! Off and on I think it's a tiny bit more moisturizing than the regular Marula Oil, but then sometimes I'm not sure if it's just my mind playing tricks? Either way, I think it's just as good as the original.
  3. Apply Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence
  4. Apply Glycolix Elite Fortified Cream on top of the oil on my dry spots (forehead, cheeks and neck). I've tried applying the oil over the moisturizer, but I don't see a difference so I just apply the oil first. This is still a favorite, but I'm getting slightly bored of using it and am therefore on the hunt for something different. You know, just because ha ha!
  5. Apply Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Cream
  6. Apply any spot treatments: Murad Acne Spot Treatment, Anti-fungal cream
  7. If I'm staying inside all day, I won't apply an SPF. If I'm going out, I'll apply either the Bioderma Photoderm Laser (Spot) SPF50+ or the Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer SPF50+ (currently testing).

PM

  1. If I've worn makeup, I'll tissue off what I can before cleansing (NOT eyes, just cheeks and forehead).
  2. First cleanse with either the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (if I use this I'll remove eye makeup first with Koh Gen Doh Cleansing Water or the Tom Ford Makeup Remover) or my DIY Cleansing Oil
  3. Second cleanse with Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser
  4. Same as steps 2-6 above

TREATMENTS

  • Glycolix Elite Treatment Pads 20% - I use these 2-3x/week. I've really noticed a difference since I upped from the 15% pads. Generally I don't get along well with products that contain witch hazel, but for some reason this formulation doesn't bother me...perhaps because the acid percent is so high??
  • Alpha H Liquid Gold - Depending on how my skin is doing (if I want to still use an acid but don't want something as intense), I rotate this with the 20% Treatment Pads above.
  • Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel - This is my last tub, and I think I won't repurchase it again this year. Though I do love it, I find I don't need it since I started using the 20% glycolic pads mentioned above. Trying to finish this by the end of the year, but I've been forgetful about it.
  • Murad Acne Spot Treatment - Still one of my favorite spot treatments!
  • Professional Solutions Clearing Mask - Still loving this as an overnight spot treatment, though lately I've been finding it really dries my skin out if left on overnight. Usually I have no problems, but lately I've just been leaving it on for 10 min or so and then rinsing off.
  • Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque - I use this on an as-needed basis.
  • Anti-fungal Cream - Mentioned in my Favorites for 2014, this really helps with the hard keratin/sebum plugs that form around my mouth area. Sorry, so not glamorous but it's something I struggle with from time to time!
  • Cortisone Cream - I always keep some on hand in case I have a reaction to something.
  • Honey - I do a honey mask every once in awhile, and I find it really nourishing and soothing.
  • Aquaphor - Forever a staple, this really helps heal spots that I've picked (yeah, I know!) and also helps lock in extra dry spots.
  • African Botanics Marula Intense Skin Repair (Body) Balm - This is really rich and definitely intense, so I only use it overnight on my face very sparingly...the times when I'm super dry and just can't stand it. Otherwise, I use it on my body when it's needing something a little extra.
  • Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips - This is 100% medical grade lanolin. I've been using it for cuticles and random dry patches and it works amazingly well because it is so hydrating. Works even better to lock in serums or lightweight moisturizers/lotions. This is thick (think Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask thick) and a little hard to spread, so I use it sparingly and only on smaller areas.

It always seems like a lot when I write my routine down or really think about it! But the actual routine doesn't take that long - I'm pretty sure I take twice as long just nitpicking at little things!!
