I'm a lady who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).

I'm a Stewardess who prefers quiet spaces and places, but I could talk all beauty all the time! Please enjoy your visit!

On The Chopping Block

Think I finally realized that many of my purging urges occur after I've made a lot of purchases. It's always in the back of my mind to maintain a manageable stash that I love and use, so it only makes sense if I've bought a lot then my knee-jerk reaction is to make room for the new stuff! It's sort of like that one-in-one-out way of doing things. In my case it's not exactly one for one - it's more about not feeling overrun, and more importantly not having to go out and buy additional organization to accommodate a larger stash (hopefully anyway ha ha!!).

Sooooo...that brings me to the purging I started last week. Quite a few lippies are up, as are a few other bits and bobs. I keep combing through eyeshadows, but for some reason I have a tough time getting rid of those?? And I keep buying more and seeing additional ones that more than peak my interest...need to do something about that but I'm not sure exactly what???

I don't know...sometimes I feel like I need an unbiased opinion to help knock some sense into me. To say...hey you haven't used that in 6 months or a year even, so why are you keeping it??? Or, you don't LOVE this so why are you keeping it??? But it's not always so black and white or even gray and I change my mind a lot...and my reasoning changes just as often!

In the meantime, I thought I'd show you a few things that are on the chopping block...waiting...wondering if they will get thrown onto the purge pile...

***All items purchased by me.***

Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipsticks in 03 Tsuyazakura, 08 Keshiaka, 12 Hiwada - review HERE. Don't get me wrong...I absolutely still love this formula!!! However, because I bought them sight unseen and from online swatches only, I had no idea how they would look on my lips. 2 of the colors look nearly identical once applied, and to be honest though I quite like the colors they aren't the most flattering in my collection. As a result, I never reach for them anymore...such a shame because I really do love the formula...but if they don't look as good as other lipstick colors then what's the point?? These have actually been on the 'almost' purge pile for awhile, but because they most definitely were not easy to obtain it's been really difficult to let them go.

Shiseido Shimmering Rouge in RD709. This is an OK formula, just one of those middle of the road ones that's neither amazing nor terrible. Wear time is about average as well. Because it has shimmers I do feel the shimmer particles a bit, but that's not a deal breaker. I don't reach for this often because of the color. In the tube it's exactly something I gravitate toward, but once on my lips it kind of disappears into nothing. It's just kind of eh...blah...one of those colors that doesn't seem to make a difference and I might as well have just slapped on lip balm.

Guerlain Eyebrow Kit - review HERE. I still stand by my review and think this is a fantastic little brow kit that's versatile enough to suit many different brow colors. However, I've come to really REALLY love the ease of use of my Kevyn Aucoin Precision Brow Pencil (review HERE)!! And since my brows are slowly but surely growing back and filling themselves in, I don't need as much external help. The KA is much less fuss, super easy to pack, and the color suits my taste perfectly. I love the KA so much, I don't really see a need for another brow product for the time being. Or do I???

So those are some of the purging thoughts that have been filling my head lately!! Many more to come, I'm sure ha ha :-)
